FAQ; Should you drink the water and what about the ice?

No one wants to take to their bed because of something they ate or drank..... there's plenty of other good reasons for going and getting to the cama....but if it is served to you as if you are intended to consume it, go ahead and drink the water and enjoy the ice. This said, many prefer the old dictum and refrain from anything that has not been pasteurized [like their beer], and drinks neat. Moderation and common sense should serve you here.

Oysters, steak tartar and such are no more risky here than any Kansas City eatery, but I don't do Dorothy anymore. I'm beginning to think it might not be a perfect world.

El Campanario .....word has it that recent improvements have considerably restored the quality of the food for the prices commanded. Otherwise, still one of the most beautiful vistas of the bay for sunset cocktails, etc. Review:"I was at Campy Land a coupla months ago. It was awful; the food (what there was of it) came cold to start with; I mean its not exactly awful the food, if you were paying 3 bucks a plate for it, it'd be just fine. But its more like institutional food; like jail food as it were; it looks like it was prepared whenever it was convenient for them to prepare it, and they're serving it some time after they reheat it , or its been kept warm in those cafeteria-line steam thingies AND, worse, the service was nonexistent. They came at first to seat us, then about 20 minutes went by and some guy came to take the order; after they brought the food there was no one in sight to talk about reheating it, and thank God big David had his torch-type cigarette lighter there which I reheated my own damn steak thank you or it would have been steak tartare. It wasn't a busy nite - maybe 3 tables with people at about 10pm; and the help I guess had declared a general strike or something. Well, aside from the abundant parking and lovely grounds, this place ......." frequent visitor from LA 08/18/98
